Hey, my name is Ren. Not really, but that's what you can call me here.
Almost thirty-one years ago my parents got together one night and did something probably naughty. After suffering a two month long "flu" my mother went to the doctor and found out that stomach bug she had was actually me.
Fast forward thirty years. I'm now living in San Jose, California. I've graduated from UCSC with a BA in Psychology (which allows me to ask, "Would you like fries with that...and how does that make you feel?"), I work at Das Employa as an HR specialist, and I'm now married to the ever-wonderful chelleann77 and became a father on April 1st with the addition of my son Connor to my life. I'm a part of the guild of Santa Maria, one of the Hirdmenn, a member of Discord, a semi-professionally published author (if getting one short story published means anything at all), gamer, geek, and misfit. I'd like to think that I'm a decent human being but I'll settle for just being human.
If you're going to friend me: say something. Comment, drop me an e-mail, wave your arms, whatever. The only times I friend people these days are people that A) I know in real life, B) people I've had actual conversations with, or C) people who are generally entertaining that I find randomly. Friending me out of the blue and never commenting in my journal will generally cause me to note your presence in my user-info and that's it.
Drabble Chart What's a drabble? Drabble's are short pieces of fiction, one hundred words long (no more, no less), based loosely around a topic. As I write drabbles for the topics below, I'll link the topic to the post. Unfortunately, you must be on my Writing filter to see them.
Taking the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Quotation Policy)
In the past I've written a few things that others have found witty, marginally intelligent, or simply entertaining and have asked if they could quote me or link to my posts. Here's my policy:
- If it's in a public post then quote away freely, just please give credit where it's due (I'd also prefer a link back but, eh, I'm not going to be picky).
- If it's in a locked post then please ask permission. I've locked it for a reason obviously, and while I might be ok with a certain group of people seeing what I've written, I may not be ok with a larger audience of people I don't know.
